What happens in your first week at Impact?
You start with marketing basics: understanding customers, business goals and the ways a business can reach people online.

First, what does marketing mean?
Marketing helps people understand what a business offers and why it may be useful to them. Digital marketing does this through places such as Google, websites and social media.
Posting every day is not the whole job. You also need to understand who you are speaking to and what you want your message to achieve. These ideas are the starting point in your first week at Impact.
Who is the customer?
A customer is someone who may need the product or service. Different people have different needs. A student looking for a course and a parent ordering a birthday cake will look for different information.
Understanding the customer helps you decide what to say. A useful message answers their questions instead of simply saying, “We are the best.”

What does the business need?
A business goal is the result the business wants. It could be enquiries, appointments, shop visits or sales.
For our made-up bakery, the goal might be more cake enquiries. A post can receive many likes without bringing any orders. That is why understanding the goal matters before choosing an activity.
One idea to remember: start with the customer’s need and the business goal. Then choose the message and where to share it.
Where do Google and social media fit?
A channel is a way to reach people. Search can help someone find a business when they are looking for it. Social media can help people discover a business while browsing.
Paid ads are messages a business pays to show. SEO helps search engines understand pages and can help people find them in unpaid search results. You do not need to master all these terms at once. First, understand what each one is used for.
What should you know before joining?
You do not need a coding background to start. If digital marketing feels unfamiliar, begin with these basic ideas rather than trying to learn every tool before class.
This explains the first-week focus, not a fixed daily timetable. Check the current batch plan with Impact before joining.
